The Bulgarian vampire spent the first 40 days after rising from the grave with a transparent body which gave off sparks. He would stay in this state as he learned to be evil. Once the 40 days were up, he would again rise from his grave, this time with his old body. However, now he only had one nostril and a long sharp tongue.
