CHARACTER CREATION

The player is free to choose a Character Name, Gender and one of six races.

A character is randomly generated showing main characteristics and derived skill modifiers.

A culture and occupation is randomly determined, giving experience in the appropriate skills and money to spend on equipment and supplies.

The player can then choose a God and any spells (if appropriate) from the available lists.

Weapons and armour selection is followed by general equipment selection, which the character has to buy using the cash they were awarded in occupation generation.

Finally, the finished character is displayed with all derived skills and bonuses totalled.

Once your character is completed click the Start Game button.

Save Character
The save character button on the main navigation bar saves the generated character, and location, as a cookie on the players PC. If you come back, you get to start off where you left.

RULES OF WAR

ENGAGE COMBAT
As soon as the character encounters hostile creatures in the same square as himself, combat is initiated.

Basic Monster information is displayed next to the Main Map View.

COMBAT WINDOW/COMBAT RESULTS
Combat is sumarised into Initiative, Attack and Defence, Damage, Death and Looting, or Attempt Escape.

In most circumstances a single round of combat is inevitable before an escape is possible.

Combat
This section shows the results of every round of combat, how much damage your character has taken or how much damage the monster has taken. Treasure and dropped equipment will show up here.

Lifesigns
The lifesigns header becomes active when the player encounters other denizens. The main map will show an appropriate icon and the Lifesigns header will display relevant information. For example, Plant Rune in the Main Map view, Lifesigns shows Elf.

Initiative
Initiative is based on the characters Melee Strike Rank modifier plus the weapons Strike Rank, lowest S.R. attacks first. Missile weapons usually have one attack before hand to hand combat is initiated.

Attack and Defence
On entering a hostile location the residents will make a single attack which the player automatically attempts to defend against, using a parry or dodge skill. If the defence is good the player is free to choose to continue the combat, by attacking, or attempt to escape.

Damage
If the player fails their defence they take appropriate damage (minus Armour) to a random body location. This can result in instant death, decapitation or some minor damage.

Attempt Escape
If the player decides to escape they will loose their attack.

Death and Looting
When the player has successfully killed the opponent they are given the opportunity to loot the body of weapons, or search for valuables and other equipment.

NOT ALL COMBAT OPTIONS ARE IMPLEMENTED YET !

ONLY BASIC COMBAT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE
